Are you like me and have been spending a lot of your time self-reflecting? I've been thinking alot about what is important to me and what is not. From this, I plan to redesign some areas of my life, implement positive changes that I feel will bring me greater joy and purpose.

I had no idea just how life giving and important it was for me to feel connected to those outside of my immediate family by the embrace of their hug.

I am so proud of myself for implementing a positive change to my life. It's a daily self-care routine. I feel amazing and it doesn't feel like hard work. I'm even incorporating our old BowFlex that's been sitting idle for numerous decades collecting dust!

I'd love to hear what you've discovered or the plans you have to fill your days with what makes you happy. Sending you a warm virtual hug from my heart to yours!

Are you wondering what a doula is and what services they provide?

The word doula is derived from the Greek and has come to mean "a person that serves." Today, it's associated with the services a Birth Doula or Death Doula provides. However, there are numerous other life events that a doula will support someone like you or your family through.

A Doula at Courageous Goodbyes is "a non-medical professional who serves and journeys alongside others." Our holistic and nurturing doula approach focuses on the unique needs of individuals and families during times of change or crisis. We companion, advocate, liaise, educate and support families and individuals through their challenges and fears related to the senior years, loss of independence, health issues, terminal illness, the end of life transition, death and grief, We assist them in developing plans that incorporate their values, needs, goals and abilities, to empower them to live and enjoy days filled with life.

A Certified End of Life Doula (CEOLD) at Courageous Goodbyes is honored to be invited to companion the dying and their loved ones. In this specialized non-medical professional role, we offer an additional level of reassurance in their home, at the hospital, hospice or care facility to both the dying person and their family. Our holistic doula approach empowers families to create a sacred space to share final memories, embrace the bittersweet gifts of the journey and prepare for their courageous goodbyes.
