Obstructive Sleep Apnea can have many symptoms

Sleep Apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by interruptions in breathing during sleep. People with Sleep Apnea will partially awaken as they struggle to breathe and are often not aware of these disturbances taking place.

First, the partial awakening at night will cause excessive daytime sleepiness and lack of energy. Snoring is a common symptom due to the loss of muscle tone during sleep. Stopping breathing frequently during the night can cause increased stress on the heart, which can cause high blood pressure and/or morning headaches.

Do you have two or more of the following symptoms?

  1. Tired in the morning
  2. Sleepy after work
  3. Loud snoring
  4. Gasp, choke and/or stop breathing
  5. Increased neck circumference
  6. Poor memory or memory loss
  7. Wake up with headaches
  8. Restless sleep
  9. Frequent nocturnal bathroom trips
  10. Drowsy when watching television
  11. Crankiness, irritability, depression
  12. Decreased energy and motivation
