What is microneedling?

Microneedling involves the use of tiny thin needles applied to the skin (typically the facial area) for the purpose of rejuvenating the skin. The microneedles make tiny wounds to the skins upper layer to induce the production of collagen. As the collagen goes to work to repair the microscopic damage it promotes the growth of fresh new skin cells.
 

What conditions does microneedling treat?

Acne scars, stretch marks and wrinkles top the list of skin conditions treated via microneedling. A visible reduction in the appearance of such conditions puts microneedling into the cosmetic side of things however it has been used to help address some medical problems.
